How to Create a Pre-Authorised Payment Link from Partner Admin
Last updated Mar 31, 2026
Overview
Pre-authorised payments allow a business to temporarily reserve a specified amount on a customer’s card without capturing the funds immediately.
This is useful in situations where the final payable amount may change, such as:
- Security deposits
- Hotel or rental reservations
- Orders where the final bill is determined later
When a pre-authorised payment is created, the customer’s card authorises the amount, but the funds are only transferred when the merchant captures the payment later.
Important
- A pre-authorised payment link is single-use. Once the customer completes the authorisation, the link cannot be reused.
- If the captured amount is lower than the authorised amount, the remaining balance is automatically refunded to the customer’s card.
