How to Sort Orders by Reference Number on the KDS

Your Kitchen Display System (KDS) can be configured to sort incoming orders by their reference number, providing a more organized and structured view—especially helpful for operations with high order volumes or ticket-based workflows.

When to Use This

Sorting by reference number is ideal when:

• Orders are managed using ticket or invoice numbers
• You want to view orders in a predictable numeric sequence
• You need to reduce manual scanning through unsorted tickets

1. Open General Settings

• From the KDS home screen, tap the Settings icon located at the top-right corner of the screen
• This opens the settings menu

2. Navigate to General Settings

• Inside the settings menu, select General Settings

3. Enable Sorting by Reference Number

• Find the option labeled Sort by Reference Number
• Toggle this setting on to enable automatic sorting based on order reference numbers

4. Save Your Changes

• Once toggled, the system will reorder your active orders based on their reference number values
• Your preferences will be saved for future sessions unless changed manually
