Kayana KDS (Telpo TPS680) Hardware Setup
This guide takes you through unboxing, setting up, powering on, and starting the Kayana KDS (Telpo TPS680) device.
The Kayana Kitchen Display System (KDS) replaces printed kitchen tickets by displaying orders digitally in the kitchen.
Orders sent from EPOS or Self-Service Kiosk appear instantly on the KDS screen, helping kitchen staff track, prepare, and complete orders efficiently.
What you receive in the Box
Your Kayana KDS pack includes:
- Telpo TPS680 device
- Power cable and adapter
- Ethernet cable (if provided)
- Mounting stand or bracket (if included)
Before starting, ensure all items are present.
What You’ll Need
To operate correctly, the KDS requires:
- Power
- Internet connection (Ethernet recommended)
⚠️ Wi-Fi can be used, but a wired Ethernet connection is strongly recommended for stable and uninterrupted order flow.
Step 1: Position the KDS
- Place the Telpo TPS680 in the kitchen where it is clearly visible to staff
- Ensure the device is away from heat, steam, and direct water exposure
- If using a mount or stand, secure the device before connecting cables
Step 2: Connect Power
- Locate the power port on the Telpo TPS680
- Connect the power adapter to the device
- Plug the other end into a wall socket and switch it on
The screen will remain off until the device is powered on.
Step 3: Connect to the Internet
Using Ethernet (Recommended)
- Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on the KDS
- Plug the other end into your router or network switch
- The device will automatically detect the connection
Using Wi-Fi (If Ethernet Is Not Available)
- Wi-Fi setup is handled during installation or configuration by Kayana
- If Wi-Fi is unstable, orders may be delayed or fail to appear
Step 4: Power On the Device
- Press and hold the Power button on the Telpo TPS680
- The screen will turn on and begin loading
Allow the device a few moments to complete startup.
Step 5: Launch the Kayana KDS App
- Once powered on, launch the Kayana KDS app
⚠️ Do not attempt to close or uninstall the KDS app.
Step 6: Confirm Orders Are Reaching the Kitchen
Once setup is complete:
- Place a test order from the EPOS or Self-Service Kiosk
- Confirm the order appears on the KDS screen
- Orders will update in real time as they are received
If orders do not appear, check:
- Internet connection
- EPOS / Kiosk is online
- KDS device is powered on and running the app
Everyday Use (Kitchen Staff)
- New orders appear automatically on the KDS
- Orders can be viewed and managed directly from the screen
- Completed orders will update order status across the system
ℹ️ The KDS updates live — no manual refresh is required.
Important Notes
- The KDS does not process payments
- The KDS relies on a stable internet connection
- If the device goes offline, orders will not appear until connectivity is restored
