My Printer Is Printing Jargon
Last updated Jun 3, 2025
If your printer is printing jargons / unreadable or random characters, it typically means the connection between the printer and your device is disrupted. This can happen due to a temporary glitch or miscommunication between the printer and the system.
How to Identify the Issue
Receipts may appear with:
- Random symbols
- Garbled or incomplete text
- Misaligned formatting
This is a clear sign that the printer is not properly communicating with your EPOS or KDS system.
Steps to Resolve Printer Printing Jargon Issues
1. Turn Off the Printer
Power off the printer completely.
2. Restart Your Main Device
Depending on what the printer is connected to, restart:
- Your EPOS terminal
- Or your KDS system
3. Switch the Printer Back On
Once the main device restarts fully, power on the printer.
4. Reconnect the Printer to Your Device
Ensure the printer is correctly paired or connected based on your setup:
- For EPOS:
Re-establish the connection via Bluetooth, USB, or LAN depending on the printer type. - For KDS:
Navigate to Settings > System & Connectivity, and verify that the printer is detected and selected.
Following these steps should resolve the issue. If the problem persists, please contact Kayana Support for further assistance.
