How to Accept MOTO (Mail Order / Telephone Order) Payments
Last updated Jun 3, 2025
Kayana Terminal supports MOTO payments, allowing you to process transactions on behalf of customers who provide their card details over the phone or by mail. These are known as card-not-present transactions and are ideal for remote sales.
What is a MOTO Payment?
MOTO (Mail Order / Telephone Order) payments are transactions where the customer is not physically present. Instead, the merchant manually enters the customer’s card information into the terminal to complete the sale.
When to Use MOTO
Use MOTO payments when:
- Customers place orders over the phone.
- Customers send order requests via mail or email.
- You need to process a payment without the customer being on-site.
Important Notes
- MOTO payments must be entered manually using card details provided by the customer.
- This feature may require activation or permission — please contact Kayana Support for assistance.
- For security, ensure cardholder details are handled confidentially and only used for the purpose of the transaction.
If you are advised to process a MOTO payment, Kayana Support will provide detailed steps and assistance.
